Hinterland Speech Pathology provides in-home or community based support to adults (people 17 years and over) throughout the Sunshine Coast Hinterland community and beyond.

About Our Supports

About you

Hinterland Speech Pathology provides support...
  • To adults and teenagers over the age of 17
  • In homes
  • In the community (e.g. cafes, libraries and public spaces)
  • In aged care facilities.
  • At Maleny Community Centre

Funding

NDIS
We currently support plan and self managed participants.

Fees are charged in line with the NDIS price guide. 
Medicare rebates
We support patients who have been referred by their GP.

A CDM referral is required from your GP before your first Speech Pathology appointment. Please note that you may need to pay the gap between the medicare benefit ($60.35) and sessions fees ($217 p/h). 
Home Care Package or Commonwealth Home Support Programme
Ask your package provider to enquire about brokering services with Hinterland Speech Pathology. 
WorkCover
We are a registered WorkCover provider. We typically support workers to return to their occupation after injury.

Supports can include voice therapy, speech and language intervention and swallowing reviews. 
Private Health Insurance
Call your insurer or check their website to understand if your policy covers Speech Pathology services. 

Claims can be made by submitting a paid Speech Pathology invoice via their online claim portal.  
Fee for service
All therapy and assessment sessions are $217 per hour.

While all efforts are made to provide services within session time, additional time may be needed for travel or report development. Additional costs will be discussed ahead of time.

How your Speech Pathologist can help

Experienced in supporting people who have difficulty with...
  • Producing clear speech sounds (dysarthria or apraxia of speech)
  • Saying words fluently (stuttering)

Hi 👋 my name is Georgia and this is my pup Archie.

I'm a Speech Pathologist with 7 years experience working with people from all walks of life. I am passionate about helping people to do what they love to do in life.

I started Hinterland Speech Pathology through lived experience and a passion for providing collaborative, affirming and evidence-based support to people with a disability. 
​
I have completed training and am experienced in:
  • SoundsWrite® Certified
  • LSVT Loud® Certified​
  • PODD Trained
  • Talking Mats Certified
  • Training in the assessment and management of complex Dysphagia in acquired and developmental conditions
  • Key Word Sign trained
  • AAC (communication device) language systems including PECS, LAMP, Grid 3, TD Snap, Grid 3, Proloquo2Go. 
  • Experience with a range of AAC access systems (low, mid and high cost Assistive Technology), including iPad, eye Gaze and complex access systems assessment, prescription and implementation. ​

Georgia is experienced in providing services to people with diagnoses such as Aphasia (post-stroke diagnosis), Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's Disease, Ataxia, Apraxia of Speech, Traumatic Brain Injury, Dementia, Autism and ADHD.
